VCAS are pleased to announce Sunderland’s

Spring Voluntary and Community Sector

Conference 2025.

The conference will bring together the Voluntary and Community Sector providing an opportunity for community-led, person-centred approach to community development. The conference provides an opportunity to listen to the sector to better understand the issues we face in our communities and how to co-produce better solutions.

The conference will give us all an opportunity to speak, listen, discuss and plan; informed by the thoughts and experiences of those VCSE organisations involved in delivering services to the community. It will be a day of learning, networking, and collaboration.

Importantly, for the most authentic VCSE sector voices and contributions to this conference, we need organisations of all sizes and shapes to join us. Our hope is that the feedback from the event will completely reflects the broad experiences across the city.

The Theme:

The theme of our 2025 Conference will be ‘One Community; Many Voices’.

The voluntary sector, and our local community, has been faced with a number of challenges in recent years. This event will provide delegates with an opportunity to reflect on the challenges and struggles following issues such as; funding cuts, community cohesion, national insurance challenges, the cost-of-living crisis, volunteer recruitment and other local and regional developments. ‘One Community: Many Voices‘ is an opportunity to come together and develop more effective strategies.

Key Aims:

To provide an opportunity to bring the sector together to engage with regional stakeholders and to have an opportunity to reflect how the sector has progressed since 2019.

To provide a platform for sector ‘voices’ to be heard by local and regional stakeholders. To come together and reflect on recent challenges.
